Taking Time For Yourself
Do you take anytime for yourself?
I recently wrote about attending an art journaling class, and how I hesitated from going because of all the other things I should be doing.
Update: I did attend the art journalling workshop, and it was so good!
I hesitated going because I thought that I should be working, what if my kids got sick, all these silly excuses for why I shouldn’t go.
It was only 1 day. My kids were fine, no one even noticed I was gone, I still got work in in the morning and evening. And it was such an awesome experience that left me inspired and creative again.
Why do we hold ourselves back from the really good things, because we ‘should’ be doing other things?
Take time for yourself
I want you to think about something you’ve been putting off, but really want to do. Maybe it’s a weekly massage, an art class, or just more ‘me time’. Whatever that is, I want you to commit to doing it. Do one act of self-care this week for yourself.
Know that you are worth it
I think sometimes we feel like we aren’t worth the time. Like our families deserve things, but not us. I don’t know why we feel that way. Is it just me?
I want you to know that you are worth it. You are amazing, and you need to do something for yourself to truly show yourself that you believe that.
I’m not going to say that taking time for yourself will be easy. You might feel guilty. You might feel selfish. But one thing I can say, is once you do that thing you’ve been wanting to do, you’ll feel amazing.
